"Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." James 4:17 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:" James 1:2,23
The Lord has been dealing with me concerning being a doer of the Word. It is not enough to quote the scriptures verbatim. It is not enough to be able to find the scriptures quickly in the Bible. It is not enough to go to every service every week. It is not enough to be a faithful tithe payer. God is looking for doers. Talking about Jesus, testifying about Jesus, singing and dancing is not enough. There needs to be some fruit coming forth so others can want this great salvation. The Lord was showing me how the people are getting comfortable being around each other and not reaching out to the lost. Preaching and teaching blessings and favor while souls are dying daily and going to hell. Many assemblies have the means to hold street meetings, tent revivals, set up ministries in areas in dire need. But instead, they continue to grow their bank accounts, take trips and quote scriptures. They continue to ordain Elders and Bishops but these never go to the streets and by ways. It is easy to preach to those already confessing Jesus Christ. But what about the one that maybe does not smell good or look good? What about the one that curses and has a hard heart? What about the single mother that continues to have children out of wedlock? What about those that have been abused? What about those that are in jail/prison? What about the homeless? What about those suffering with an addition? I Corinthians 6:9-10 mentions sins that man faces. Sins such as fornicators, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate, abusers of themselves with mankind, thieves, covetous, drunkards, revilers and extortioners. Then the scripture goes on to say, "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God (verse 11). Question: Have you forgotten where the Lord brought you from? Much could be said on this subject. But this entry serves as a reminder to the Church. The harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few. The Lord does not save so His people can sit and do nothing. The Lord does not give the Holy Ghost to the obedient so they can sit and do nothing. There is more to serving the Lord and living a Holy life besides singing, dancing, preaching and teaching. He told me His people are getting comfortable with singing, dancing, preaching, teaching, high fiving each other and looking at their neighbor and forgetting about the lost. WHAT IS THE HOLY GHOST FOR ANYWAY? It is not for singing, dancing. In the book of Acts where it says, "But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." This verse is saying the Holy Ghost gives power to be a witness for the Lord here, there and every where! If you have gotten comfortable with just going to church, quoting the scriptures, looking up the scriptures, looking at your neighbor, high fiving your neighbor, jumping and shouting with no works, go back to the altar and find your first love. If the word you hear preached only makes you shout but not change, go back to the altar. Faith without works is dead. |
#Run the Race Right,#Win,
Many start, but do not finish. Many once ran well, but now have allowed that which is contrary to scripture to run their lives. The scriptures bear this out in Galatians chapter three. "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, " Galatians 3:1 "Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye n ow made perfect by the flesh?" Galatians 3:3 The Lord is calling the roll. Are you ready? Revelations 16:15 "Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame." steadfastapostolic.com
