Go Through

If you go through, you will come out.

#Excuses,#Tell the Truth, #Correction,#Training Children,#teaching children

There is a scripture in the Bible that says, "Now, no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby."   Hebrew 12:11  Then Hebrews 12: 7 says, "If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?   Hebrews 12:8 says, "But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons."   Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in he way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it" Chastening- correcting mistakes and curbing passions;  to inflict suffering upon for purposes of moral improvement. Chastisement- severe criticism; a rebuke or strong reprimand. Train- to develop or form the habits, thoughts, or behavior of a child or other person by discipline and instruction: to make proficient by instruction and practice

#Understanding,#Scripture, #Pay the Price,#The Truth

Praise the Lord!! My soul delights in the Lord.  He is so good and kind and faithful to His children.  Years, I mean years I have pondered the scripture found in Proverbs 23:23 that says, "Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding".  I have asked the Lord for years, what does buy the truth and sell it not mean.  When I  first got saved, I thought it meant, buying Bibles and study materials.  Wrong. This past Friday, the question crossed my mind again.  With so much going on with those that profess Christ, the backsliders, the lukewarm, no interest in the work of the Lord, the question came back to my mind.  For regardless of what people do, the word of God can not be changed for anybody. So what does it mean to buy the truth and sell it not?  It fell in my heart to turn on some holiness preaching.  The preacher was saying the church is not cheap.  He went on to teach about what something cheap means, what it looks like, how somethin

The Flesh

According to the Bible the Flesh and the spirit of God do not agree. They are not the same. You can not live a Holy life in the flesh. #ohamen

Feeling Affect Discernment,#Feelings, #Obedience, Not Feelings

I had asked the Lord a lot a questions recently concerning why folks hop from church to church.  I asked why is there such a lack in obeying the Bible or at least striving to obey.  Why is there so much slack. Around four o'clock in the morning, Monday May 1st, I got an answer. When the Lord calls a person into the ministry, He places this desire for souls to be saved inside them.  He places a strong desire for the word of God, compromised.  He puts a drive in the soul to seek righteousness.  He puts a love for His people and their well being in the heart.  He puts a love for the church in the heart.  He puts a strong dislike for sin in the heart. But, what happens when the people do not want to hear the truth?  Why are people going from assembly to assembly, running here and there.  Why have the people stop seeking the face of the Lord?  Why so easily discouraged and wanting to give up?  Why is there no drive to walk upright and contend for Holiness as in times past?  Why ar

#Easter, #Resurrection, #Passover,#Jesus,#Holiness

There are so many names for this one day out of the year.  Which one is right?  Which one does Jesus teach? In the Old Testament, God told Israel to keep the Passover.  It represented the fact that God delivered Israel out of the land of Egypt and out of Pharaoh's hands.  It is called Passover because the death angel passed over all the houses that had blood on the door post and lintels.   There was also a special diet that accompanied the Passover in the Old Testament.  This teaching can be found in the book of Exodus, starting at chapter 12. After the instructions from God on the Passover, God gave Israel twelve commandments to live by.  This can be found in Exodus Chapter 20, verses 1 through 17 . The word Easter is found in the Bible one time, in the book of Acts 12:4 .  It is only mentioned.  The Bible does not teach Easter.  Easter is a pagan celebration.  It has nothing to do with Jesus, the Church or salvation.  Bunny rabbits, colored eggs, easter clothes, easter ca

The Light

Jesus is the light that removed darkness.

The Word of God is true all by itself!!

There is a saying that time brings about a change.  This may be true for some things, but not Jesus Christ of the Church. The Bible teaches Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever  (Hebrew 13:8).  Jesus also says, "I am the Lord, I change not.   (Malachi 3:6) The Word of God, the Bible, is forever established.  The Word of God, the Bible, is the teaching that will lead a soul to salvation, if obeyed.  Gods word can not be changed.  There is no private interpretation.  For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but hold men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (II Peter 1:20,21). Stay with the Book! "In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  And without Him was not anything made that was made.  In Him was life and the life is the light of men.  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not."   John 1:1-5 Preach the Wo

#Obedience,#Son,#Doing What the Lord Says

In the book of Matthew chapter 21 verses 28-32 the Lord taught from a parable of two sons and their father.  The father called the first son and told him to go work in the vineyard.  The son told his father, no.  But, after awhile, the son repented and went to work. The second son came.  The father asked him to go work in the vineyard also.  The second son said he would go, but did not go.  Jesus then asked the question, "Whether of them twain did the will of his father?"  The correct answer, the first son. Why does the scripture teach that the first son obeyed?  His first answer was no.  Did he say no because he did not want to go?  Did he say no because he was being rebellious?  The scripture does not say why he said no.  But he did.  However, he must have thought about what he said.  For he went back, repented and went to work. Isn't it wonderful that the Lord gives time to 'get it right' through repentance?  Isn't it wonderful that a person does not
