Holiness Has Not Changed

Living for the Lord is really not hard.  It only becomes a challenge when the heart and mind is not made up to live right.  The Bible says a double minded man is unstable in all his ways (James 1:8).  When one is double minded, the desire is there to sever two masters, the flesh and God.  What makes it hard is the fact that it can't be done.  When you try and serve one, the other suffers.  When you turn and server the other, the one suffers.  So, the soul is turmoil from all the turning back and forth. But if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (II Corinthians 5:17). It is not said much any more but it yet still holds true.  The phrase born again.  In order to become a new creature in Christ Jesus one must become born again.  Nicodemus asked Jesus about it.  He wanted to know how a man could enter a second time into his mothers womb.  He was looking at it in the natural.  Jesus was looking at it in the Spirit

Servanthood The scripture teaches that who ever is great among you, let him be your servant. A servant makes of himself or herself no reputation.  A servant has a humble spirit.  A servant seeks to please the master.  A servant considers others and not themselves.  A servant has a heart free from selfish desires and motives.  A servant loves the Lord and loves His people. Oh that men would begin to serve the Lord again instead of their own devises and self.  Apostle Paul said, “For God is my witness whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers.”  Romans 1:9.  The scripture reference is saying  service is in the heart as relates to the Gospel.  If the heart is not right, one can not serve the Lord.  A believer must make every effort to keep a clean heart.  That takes work, but it is worth it. David said in Psalms 51:10, “Create in my a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” st

I enjoy reading what some of the Elders, true Elders, of the Church have to say about the times we are living in now.  It is so obvious that what they know to be Holy, sanctified living is not what is being demonstrated or taught today.  Some of the Elders are most elegant in voicing what they see and hear. Others write about the truth not being preached any more, no standards, etc. When I came into the Church, there was a standard.  And, that standard was put into my heart and soul.  The Elders made sure you knew the truth and held you to living the truth that you heard.  For they realized that the Lord is not slack concerning his promises as some men  count slackness.  But is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.  II Peter 3:9.  They knew the fear of the Lord and taught it to the Saints.  You could not be foolish in Church and you could not bring foolishness into the Church.  They did not care about your 'gift&#

In conversation, a young lady was discussing how many people today do not believer in Heaven or hell any more.  People do not believe there is a higher power or God in Heaven.  People say they know right from wrong on their own and do not need anyone to tell them or teach them different. Jesus wept. At first I was a little taken aback.  But then I remembered the scripture that says: "in the latter times some  shall depart from the faith,  giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"   I Timothy 4:1,2 How can anyone not believe their is a God?  How is the blood running warm in the veins?  How is the hair and nails on your body growing?  How does the body know what to do with food and drink when ingested?  How do the bodily functions move on their own?  How does the tongue taste and signals get sent to the brain that 'this tastes good' or 'this does not taste good'?

The Bible teaches to let patience have her perfect work ( James 1:4 ).  The Bible teaches in patience possess ye your soul ( Luke 21:19 ).  The Bible also teaches to wait on the Lord and be of good courage and He shall strengthen thine heart ( Psalms 27:14 ).  So, why try and rush what the Lord has not allowed in your life? Many make ship wreck because having zeal but no wisdom to wait.  The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.  He knows what He wants you to do.  Wait on Him.  Sometimes when you get in a hurry, you make mistakes and miss out on the perfect will of the Lord.  You will make decisions based on feeling and emotions and not the will of the Lord when you do not have patience to wait.  God told Abraham he would have a seed that would come from his lions.  The Lord did not fulfill His word to Abraham until Sarah was of age when it should not have been possible for her to bare children.  And, because Abraham could not wait, he did things his way and a son was born of

"For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book."   Revelations 22:18-19 The scriptures are plain.  The Bible is not to be played with.  The words written in it are to be taught and preached unto the soul of men.  To add to the what the Lord has already said will bring plagues upon man kind.  To take away from what the word says, will cause a person's part in the holy city (Heaven) to be removed.  So, why would anyone try and change what the Bible says?  Cute sayings do not lead a soul to salvation.  It takes the Word preached and taught.  The Bible says specifically that the word is God ( John 1:1 ).   The Bible says specifical

The bible says the joy of the Lord is your strength.  What ever you do, don't let the devil steal it!!  Pray.  The Bible says the Lord has given us the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness: that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified (Isaiah 61:3). Trouble comes to all.  No one is exempt.  But what ever you do, don't let the devil steal your joy!!

The Bible says it is the little foxes that spoil the vine ( Song of Solomon 2:15 ).  So many do not understand or want to learn how to present their bodies unto the Lord.  For some reason there is this opinion that it does not matter how we carry our bodies or how we dress out bodies and yet still have the Holy Ghost.  For some reason, when wearing jewelry, make up, pants is brought up, immediately the cry becomes 'legalism, stop judging, that's not my conviction, I have a new revelation'.  For the Bible says, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ( I Corinthians 6:19 )   Then in I Corinthians 3:17 it says, "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." Some have that love the Lord have not been taught what the Bible says about presenting your body and how to dress and conduct yourself.  If they love

My soul grieves when I see foolishness being presented as Holiness or the  Holy Ghost.  Blasphemy is the only unforgivable sin and it is going on every where.  Hell has enlarged itself. It is grievous when I see how the standard of holiness is put down, "it don't take all that:,  "you are too hard", "the Lord understands", "that's your conviction."  I hear this all the time.  Then, look around and see and hear some of the foolishness, hell bound stuff that is being represented as Holy.  NOT SO! It does not matter what the world says, false prophets say, false preachers say, false saints say born again..Jesus Name ...Holy Ghost filled...Holiness people do not live  a life in sin.  The do not drink, smoke, chase me or women, lie, steal hate, disrespect other, deceive, cause confusion, cover the face with make up, wear jewelry (vanity, flesh), the women do not wear pants, the men do not wear dresses/skirts or women attire.  The women allow th

The Lord is so good.  Woke up this morning with my mind stayed on Jesus.  There are no words to describe how good He is. In Matthew chapter 24  the Lord lets us know the things that are going to take place as the world comes to an end. It is a little disturbing when the Church is blamed or told it should be doing something due to the trouble and civil unrest that is going on.  But, the Church has tried, did try and continues to try. The Church has been preaching Jesus Christ and Him crucified for centuries.  The Church has been crying out against sin  since the day of Pentecost! The Church is not the blame for all that is going on evil in this world.  How many have been told they need Jesus?  How many have been told to repent and turn from the world?  How many have been told to change their way of living?  How many have been told how to live right and productive?  How many mothers, grandmother, fathers, grandfathers have prayed for their children and grandchildren?  How many children and grandchildren that have been raised in the ways of the Lord have turned their backs on the ways of the Lord and

There is a lot going on in the United States and the world right now.  The weather is different.  There is unrest in some of our cities.  A whole university closed down over night leaving students in limbo. Earth quakes in divers places.  The Bible speaks to all of this. It is time to seek the Lord and be saved! I know some get tired of hearing it.  "the same thing over and over and over again."  I know.  But, ETERNITY IS A LONG TIME!!!! WHERE WILL YOU SPEND IT? When a person dies, the only way their soul will rest is if they die saved.  If they are not saved when they die, hell will be the final resting place. What is saved?  Being saved is not going to Church.  Being saved is not reading the Bible.  Being saved is not quoting scriptures. It is easy to speak about the goodness of the Lord.  To speak about how much He loves us.  How much and how often He makes ways for people.  How He opens doors that no man can shut.  How He heals the body.  How he regulates the mind.  The worst of persons can speak to these things concerning Jesus. But what about loving Jesus back?  In the natural no one wants to do it all or give it all in a relationship and receive nothing back.  But when it comes to Jesus the masses are quick to speak to the Lord blessing, yet still in sin. Still living and doing things contrary to the word of God. There is a scripture in the Bible that speaks to the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to the baptism being conducted by John to be baptized.  But John said unto them O generations of vipers who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance;"  Matthew 3:7b,8 You can not take on the blessings of the Lord and not be part of Him.  Sounds harsh?   Bu

Many start, but do not finish. Many once ran well, but now have allowed that which is contrary to scripture to run their lives. The scriptures bear this out in Galatians chapter three. "O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, " Galatians 3:1 "Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye n ow made perfect by the flesh?" It is more than mumbling words in  a building. "Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his face continually".   I Chronicles 16:11 "Take with you words, and turn to the Lord: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously; so will we render the calves of our lips."   Hosea 14:2 "Pray without ceasing."  I Thessalonians 5:17 "Is any among you afflicted?  let him pray."   James 5:13a "For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of Him."  I Samuel 1:27 "Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.  The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."  James 5:16 It is truly times for the people of God to pray. steadfastapostolic.com

Here is a question that has been asked several times.  Why do male Preachers/Pastors have body guards, security?  Not all, but quite a few.  What is the purpose?  Jesus did not have a body guard.  Apostle Paul did not have a body guard.  Apostle Peter did not have a body guard.  What is the 'fear' that causes a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ  to need a body guard? There is an account in scripture of the time when Judas led a multitude with swords, made up of the chief priests, the scribes and the elders to Jesus to betray Him.   In Matthew 26:14-16 speaks to this. Judas had told this multitude that the one whomsoever he would kiss would be the Christ.  Scripture goes on to say that they laid their hands on him and took him.  "And one of them that which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword , and struck a servant of the high priest, and smote off his ear .  Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again they sword into his place: for all they that take the

In the process of studying, the Lord is teaching me that if we fail to teach children and others to be responsible as they grow, we are assisting in hindering them from being emotionally mature.  It will place the person in a position of not being able to handle the issues of life.  It will keep them from "growing up".  It will keep them from being able to make decisions and being independent. I understand better what the Apostle Paul in I Corinthian 13:11 , "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things". "Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men".  I Corinthians 14:20

Of a truth, there is nothing like real preaching.  Like the broadcast intro says,"Amen that soul saving, Apostolic, Holiness Doctrine, Oh Praise God" There is only one way to Heaven.  That is through Jesus Christ.  There is only one Lord.  His name is Jesus.  The Lord is against false doctrine.  I am too. False doctrine deviates from what the Bible teaches.  False Doctrine makes room for folks to do what they want to do and still say they are Christians.  Not so!  The Word of God commands that the servant of the Lord cry out against false doctrine.  When someone opposes this, they are wrong. II John, verses 7-10 says:  "For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.  This a deceiver and an antichrist.  Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things  which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.  Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ hath not God.  He that abideth in

Stubborn -  difficult to manage, unreasonably obstinate; fixed or set in purpose of opinion; Rebellious - defying or resisting some established authority, government or tradition; disobedient Disobedien t - neglecting or refusing to obey; not submitting ******************************************************************************** If Heaven is your goal, being stubborn, rebellious or disobedient will keep you out.  There three keep a person from being teachable.  For in order to be taught, one must be willing to yield to the words of another. In Matthew 11:29 Jesus said, "Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls." Many times in conversation about Church, you may hear someone speak of how good their Pastor is.  How they will follow them to the end.  How there is no one like their Pastor. Search the Word of God.  Where in the Word does it teach to follow the Pastor? Several scriptures reference following Jesus ( Matthew 4:25, Matthew 8:23, Mark 1:18 ) just to name a few.  Jesus said in John 10:27 "my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me." In I Corinthians 4:16 the Apostle Paul said, "wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me."  What he was saying is clarified in verse 15 , "for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel."  Then he goes on to say, 'wherefore, I beseech you, be ye followers of me."  He was telling the people to follow the gospel he was preaching/teaching.  In I Corinthians 11:1 the Apostle Paul says, "Be ye followers of me, even as I am also of Christ."  What is the word saying?  Follow Ch

When it comes to the things of the Lord (that which is written in the Bible), the thoughts of mankind do not matter.  It does not matter what man thinks or believes.  When it comes to the Gospel, the Bible let every man be a liar.  For, the word of God is true. Example:  The Bible says 'repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy  Ghost.'  - Acts 2:38  Therefore any other way that is called being baptized is wrong. Example:  The Bible says if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him ( I Corinthians 11:14 ).  Therefore men with long hair are not obeying the Word of God in this area.  Likewise scripture says 'it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered ( I Corinthians 11:6 ).  Women that cut their hair and profess Christ are in error too. Example:  The Bible says 'love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and

"Thus saith the Lord, stand ye in the ways, and, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.  But they said, We will not walk therein."  Jeremiah 6:16 The prophet Jeremiah the prophet was sent by God to tell the people what thus said the Lord.  In verse 7 of the same chapter the Bible says, "..for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak."  The people of God had fallen away from the Lord.  Jeremiah 2:5  says, "Thus saith the Lord, what iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?" Vain-ineffectual or unsuccessful, without real significance, value or importance.   The people of God were living in a way that was not pleasing to the Lord and did not reflect holiness unto the Lord.  God went on to say "and I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit

In the book of Zephaniah, the scriptures tell of the judgment of God towards Judah because of sin.  When this scripture is read, it can appear to be harsh and not representative of the God the modern Church says it knows.  But, Jesus Christ (God manifested in the flesh)  is the same yesterday, today and forever.  Therefore, the same God in Zephaniah is the same God now.  The same God of judgment in Zephaniah is the same God that is going to judge the Church and the world when time ends. The prophecies that tell of the second coming of the Lord are occurring even now. The believer can never stop examining itself to see whether or not it is in the faith.  Time is running out. As a preacher called by God to preach His word, there are no options to change it.  The Word of God speaks specifically to the sin of  two men and two women being together.  It is not judging when the Word of God is the basis of determining what his right and what is wrong.  As a preacher of the Gospel, I do not want to see anyone lost or living a lie.  Hell is real.  Those that die in sin will go to hell.  That is not judging.  That is a Bible reality.  The Bible says the soul that sinneth shall  die ( Ezekiel 18:4b ).  The Bible says the wages of sin is death ( Romans 6:23 ). The problem with same sex relationships is the failure to call it sin.   Leviticus 18:22 says, "thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind: it is an abomination."   Romans 1:27 says, "and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their e

The  scriptures are very clear on this.  There is only one God and His name is Jesus.  Man can make up and create all the gods he or she can and wants.  But, there is only one God that died for the sins of the world and His name is Jesus. Isaiah 44:8b "is there a god beside me?  yea, there is not God: I know not any.   Isaiah 45: 5 says, "I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is not God beside me: I girded thee, though thous hast not known me". "Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John to be baptized of him.  But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me?  And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness.  Then he suffered him."  Matthew 3:13-15 Baptism is part of salvation.  Not sprinkling.  To be baptized means to be submerged in water (buried).  What I remember the older preachers calling  a 'watery grave'.  After a soul repents of the sin that WAS in his or her life, baptism is required to show forth a dying out to sin and being raised into a new life as a new creature (born again).  To complete the new birth process, the soul has to get filled with the Holy Ghost.  Death to the ways and the spirit of the old man and life to the new man and a new spirit.  Getting filled with the Holy Ghost brings power (Acts 1:8).  This power from God equips the man, woman, boy or girl to live a sanctified

It Has Always Been a Serious Thing What shall I render unto the Lord for all His benefits toward me?  I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.  I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.”  Psalms 116:12-14. So many take it so lightly, serving the Lord, being faithful, being diligent, and putting the Lord first. Slothfulness, tardiness, no show, struggle to pray, playing at the altar, sleeping during prayer time; and on and on.  Salvation is a serious thing. What if the Lord treated mankind the way mankind treats the Lord?  What if the Lord was tardy when He was called on? What if the Lord did not show up?  What if it did not matter to the Lord how things work out for you?  Salvation is a serious thing. There should be a diligence in the life the one that says they love Jesus.  There should be a diligence and seriousness in seeking the Lord and serving Him.  Giving the Lord all of you have because of what He di

The longer you live, the more you realize life is full of uncertainties.  One can try to plan for the future.  But only the Lord knows the future. The Bible says in the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have over come the world.  In this scripture the savior of the world is letting it be known, going through and suffering will happen to us.  But thanks be unto God that can give victory through Jesus Christ the Lord! This is why we need Jesus.  No one knows what they will face or how it will affect you.  But there is a Savior that knows all things and that came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. Don't wait until trouble comes to seek the Lord.  Seek Him now for you just don't know what life has in store for you.

How can a person want things to change but not be willing to change? How can one want improvement but not be willing to work to get it? Things, situations do not change by sitting around waiting, hoping for it. You have to do the work.

Praise the Lord everybody. I can remember hearing it said that one can give the preacher your hand and God your heart.  I can remember being told about the 'right hand of fellowship'.  These are considered two ways of 'joining the church'. But, then you search the scriptures.  Giving God your heart is not taught.  Where in the Bible does it say the right hand of fellowship is how one enters the Church? We have got to get back to Bible preaching and teaching.  The Word of God says the Lord is angry at the wicked every day.  To mislead a soul will have serious consequences come judgement day. To have a relationship with Jesus, a person must be born again of the water and the Spirit.  Talking about how good Jesus is, how loving Jesus is, reading the Bible, quoting scriptures will not get a soul into Heaven.  You must be born again of the water and the Spirit and then one must continue in the teachings of Jesus Christ until death. There is a whole lot of foolishness going on around.  If your desire is to go to Heaven , you have to get in the Word and stay there. Too many talking and God has not called them or sent them.  Too many conducting themselves contrary to the Word of God. Everything is not acceptable, if you are trying to go to Heaven.  The focus of the Church Jesus purchased with His blood is saving souls from a hell's pit.  When the focus is conferences, plays, entertainment the Word of God does not support either of these.  The Saints use to gather together to study the Word together and make sure they still had the doctrine right.  There was no fee to attend.  Everyone pitched in the gather food.  The power of God moved. Our Children are more drawn to the world than to Jesus.
