The Bible says it is the little foxes that spoil the vine (Song of Solomon 2:15). So many do not understand or want to learn how to present their bodies unto the Lord. For some reason there is this opinion that it does not matter how we carry our bodies or how we dress out bodies and yet still have the Holy Ghost. For some reason, when wearing jewelry, make up, pants is brought up, immediately the cry becomes 'legalism, stop judging, that's not my conviction, I have a new revelation'. For the Bible says, "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ( I Corinthians 6:19) Then in I Corinthians 3:17 it says, "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
Some have that love the Lord have not been taught what the Bible says about presenting your body and how to dress and conduct yourself. If they love the Lord, they will embrace the teaching and obey so they can be vessels unto honor. But, those that once ran well and had the standard of holiness in how they dressed their temple are not going against the word of god. Now there is this 'revelation from God' that things have changed.
Not so. The God of salvation, Heaven and Earth (Jesus Christ) is not a double minded, back and forth God. Not so. So, then the Bible tells us to 'in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth." II Timothy 2:25
Brother Nathaniel Wilson taught an excellent study on this, comparing the tabernacle that God used to dwell first. How the tabernacle was arranged. How those things used in the tabernacle could not be used out side of for the Lord. They could not be used in a common way. They had to be sanctified. So then what about the body of the believer which now where God wants to dwell? If the tabernacle had to be sanctified the body of the believer has to be sanctified. As a matter of fact, the teaching said God told the people not to hang anything or cover the fence so His glory could shine. So, why would one want to wear make up and cover the beauty that the holiness of God has placed on you?
I have found that once a person falls in love with Jesus, what ever He desires is what that person will seek to do and become. When something is done out of love, it is not hard, difficult or resented. It has been said that the real definition of legalism is when you do something for Jesus, but do not love Jesus. Its when you do something our of feeling obligated in stead of out of love. When you love someone there is nothing that you would not do for that person. When a person loves Jesus, they are willing to present their body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God which is just reasonable service. And, they are also willing to, "be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1,2).
Holiness is what God requires in order for a soul to see Him in peace one day. For He said that without it no man shall see the Lord (Hebrew 12:14). And, he left five ministry offices that He will fill with men and women that will preach and teach the commandments and statues of God. He gave some Apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." Ephesians 4:11-13.
Anyone that comes against this or teaches different is wrong. Let every man be a liar and the Word of God be true. Galatians 1:9, "As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."
It is time to represent Jesus Christ to a dying world. Let the Church be the Church.
