#Doer of the Word 10/31/2016 0 Comments   "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin."   James 4:17   "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only deceiving your own selves.  For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:"   James 1:2,23 The Lord has been dealing with me concerning being a doer of the Word.  It is not enough to quote the scriptures verbatim.  It is not enough to be able to find the scriptures quickly in the Bible.  It is not enough to go to every service every week.  It is not enough to be a faithful tithe payer.  God is looking for doers.  Talking about Jesus, testifying about Jesus, singing and dancing is not enough.  There needs to be some fruit coming forth so others can want this great salvation. The Lord was showing me how the people are getting comfortable  being a...
Spousal abuse is never acceptable.  Marriage is a union of a man and a woman before.   Both agree to love and cherish one another until death they do part.  Therefore, there is no place in marriage for abuse.  If there are unresolved issues, work on solving them.  If there is pain from past relationships, work on getting healed.  Do not take your pain out on your spouse.  Marriage is honorable in the sight of God. Do not give the adversary place in it to destroy it.  A vow was made in the front of God and witnesses.  Seek help if you need it.  Talk to your Pastor or an older couple that has history.  Marriage takes work, but it should not include abuse. Here are some warning signs of an abusive relationship. 1. push for quick involvement- pressures a woman for an exclusive commitment immediately. 2. jealousy - excessive possessive, calls constantly or visits unexpectedly, prevents girl friend from going to work because she might mee...
The Word of God says, "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord."   Hebrews 12:14 "Let brotherly love continue."   Hebrew 13:1 As things begin to unfold around us, it is imperative that the Saint of God obey the word of God as it relates to love.  The believer can not afford to hate, talk unruly, be disrespectful, disorderly, etc.  Yes, things may not be what one would want or expect, but a believer does not have the liberty to act out of order. If you are a born again believer, the word of God is the guide for conduct.  The love of the Lord must be the foundation for the way a believer treats others.  What does the Bible say? "But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, pray for them which despite-fully use you, and persecute you."   Matthew 5:44    "For if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?"...

You can not buy or pay for the blessings of the Lord. Don't fall for that lie.

The Psalms says, "I will bless the Lord at all times.  His praise shall continually be in my mouth.  My soul shall make her boast in the Lord.  The humble shall hear thereof, and be glad."  Psalms 34:1,2 I thank God for His word and His Spirit.  These one (God is a Spirit and the Word is God) is what the world needs right now.  For two weeks, most of the news has been about the Presidential Election.  Some greatly dislike the Republican candidate.  Some greatly dislike the Democrat candidate.  I have read comments made by those professing Christ against the candidates, that truly questions what they believe and not representing Christ. The Saints of God are suppose to stand for truth and Holiness based on the word of God.  God's word does not teach hate.  As a matter of fact, it says the following concerning those one considers an enemy: "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy....

There are too many false interpretations of the Word of God.  The Lord made it very clear that there is no private interpretation of the Word of God ( II Peter 1:20 ).  The Word says what it means and means what it says.  Any teaching that allows for flesh or sin to go unchecked, unreported,  and everything a person wants to do is ok, is  wrong.  Any teaching that allows the flesh to do what it wants to do the way it wants to is wrong.  Any teaching that allows the flesh to have an opinion opposite of what the Word teaches is wrong. Now, there are some that have started to teach that Holiness is designed to control a person and God died so we can be free.  Well, lets look at it.  If man kind can do what he wants, when he wants, the way he wants, why would God come forth in that man Jesus Christ to seek and save the lost?  Deliver men from their sins (Mt. 1:21 ).  Just recently I heard part of a message that talked about changing t...

When  I think of the scripture reference about Cornelius, it reminds me that being good is not enough to get into Heaven.  The scripture always bears witness to the fact that the Gentiles and all men that obey the Gospel can receive the Holy Ghost. The Bible says Cornelius was a devout man and one that feared God.  And, he had a prayer life.  But something was lacking. In a dream/vision, an angel of God spoke to him and gave him instructions to go look for one Simon Peter.  Cornelius obeyed.  On the other end, God was speaking to Peter concerning what was to take place.  Once Cornelius and Peter met, Cornelius told Peter he had come to hear all things that are commanded thee of God (Acts 10:33b).  Then Peter had to confess that God is no respecter of persons: but in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him (verse 34,35).  As Peter began to preach to Cornelius concerning the things of God, the Holy ...
