#Love of God
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". What love. Then verse 17 says, "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved".
So when I hear people say things like "a good God would not send anyone to hell", I ask how that conclusion was drawn. God does not send anyone to hell. Men, women, boys and girls send their own souls to hell because they will not receive the redeeming work of the Lord into their life.
The two verses above are very clear. Whosover believeth in him should not perish. How many people actually believe in the soul saving power of Jesus Christ? An also, how many people actual realize they need their sins forgiven? How many people believe they are sinners? In our world today, most think they are o.k. if they are good citizens. Not so when it comes to your soul. The soul has to be converted in order to be saved. Do you believe that?
Then in verse 17, Jesus says he did not come to condemn. But rather he came to save. Condemnation comes when there is denial of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. When the fact that He allowed himself to be beaten, crown of thorns placed on His head, his side pierced with spears and then nailed to a cross so that the soul that comes to believe on Jesus Christ can then be saved, is what He did for sinful mankind.
Man is born a sinner. It is not something that you have a choice of being when you are born. But, when you have the chance to hear the Bible preached to you, therein is your opportunity to see your sinful condition and repent of it. Then once repentance takes place, the born again experience can begin! In Acts 2:37,38 you have a group of people that when they heard the Gospel message preached asked a question. They wanted to know what to do to be saved. "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost".
So, of a truth, God loved this world enough to wrap himself in flesh, call the flesh son and then give it a name above every name, the name Jesus. Acts 4:12 says, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved".
Praise the Lord
