#Truth,#Love,#Change

There are a lot of teachings about the Church, salvation, Jesus, Heaven, etc.  There are a lot of teachings that attempt to explain a way for a person to receive from the Lord, be blessed of the Lord, have all their problems solved by the Lord.

I heard something last evening that made me shutter.  The teaching made reference to 'tapping into' the Holy Ghost.  There is not one scripture in the Bible that supports this, not one.  As I listened, I could hear how those that do not know the truth would accept this false teaching.  Even give money to 'tap into' the Holy Ghost.

The power of the Holy Ghost is not for sale and it can not be tapped into.  This type of teaching falls in line with those that say a person is born with this power in them and they have to come to the realization of tapping into it.  The Bible does not teach this.

Acts 1:8 says "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."  Note that the scripture says Holy Ghost power is received after the Holy Ghost is come.  The question to ask is 'how do you get the Holy Ghost'?

To answer that question will require teaching about sin and repentance.   These two subjects are neglected today in exchange for lies about another way to have power.

The only way to receive the Holy Ghost is to repent of sin, be baptized in the Name of Jesus for the remission of your sins and then (when the conditions are met), the Holy Ghost will fill you.  The key to receiving the Holy Ghost is to repent.  The Bible says Godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation.  To quote the scripture verbatim, "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." II Corinthians 7:10.

My pray to the Lord at times is to have mercy and send labors into the vineyard.  To send labors that will preach the Word with power.  Laborers that will endure the afflictions true preaching brings.  And even when man does not believe or accept the teachings of the Bible, the word of God still stands.  Nothing can change it,  The final judgement of man will be based on how that man/woman lived life according to the word of God.

Jesus is coming.  Even if He has not come yet, He is still coming back for His Church.
